Muted Shared Bedroom.

Who says a brother and sister, along with a soon to arrive baby, can’t share a room?! This is how to pull it off.

How we achieved this look:

  1. Practical layout.

Placing the single beds toe to toe under the window allows for plenty of play space on the soft rug. This layout also helps the cot area to be more of a seperate zone and be the focal point as you enter the space.

  2. Rich, unifying colour.

Choosing a deep green isn’t overpowering, rather it is grounding when used on the bottom third of the room. It’s a colour that works for boys and girls and is in keeping with this heritage home. The best feature is to paint the beds the same colour and watch them recede into the room beautifully.

  3. Mixing cool and warm tones.

Using a mix of warm beiges and browns, along with cooler blues and greens always works to achieve a subtle balance. On top of this, choosing a crisp white for the skirting boards and cot really lifts the space and keeps things looking fresh.
